Dawn's Story

When I first started, I knew I wanted to work with a trainer for their knowledge and expertise in exercise and nutrition. I wanted guidance and accountability to push me to achieve my particular goals.

I also wanted to work with a female Personal Trainer and so researched various coaches in Bath and found Abi on Instagram so initially started following her. I really liked her knowledgeable and professional approach to training and nutrition and also thought we would get on (which I thought was an important factor when looking for a Personal Trainer) so I signed up for 1:1 sessions once a week and have now been working with Abi since April 2021

When I first started, I wanted to regain my general fitness and lower body strength initially after lockdown but also wanted to work on good technique on my deadlifts and squats, which I didn't have and wasn't confident with.

During the initial stages of coaching, we went back to basics on both weight and technique for deadlifts and squats, going over mobility and cues etc. This has greatly improved my confidence and enabled me to lift more, with better technique and injury free so I overall feel much stronger.

I was always striving to obtain a certain scale weight and my food choices were always quite restricted. Working with Abi has shown me that it's not about scale weight. I can eat more and there are no 'bad' foods. I'm heavier now but I feel leaner, stronger and more confident in how I look.

It has been a huge learning curve for me to know and trust that I can eat more, weigh heavier but look lean and feel confident.

I now love training and the feeling I have after a gym session even more now. I may not always have that enthusiasm before I go but always feel good afterwards!

Working with Abi is great. She is always professional and pushes me to achieve my goals. She's also very knowledgeable and has the answers to any training or nutrition questions I may have but also encourages me to think for myself and holds me accountable.
